I painted this from life in my North London studio, inspired by those glorious peony bunches at flower markets in early summer — the ones that make you think "maybe I deserve those." Something about giving yourself flowers feels like a small act of rebellion.

A painting with a splash of colour and a picture of items with relevance to me. But beyond that I love the delicate connection I now have with the painter simply by knowing she studied this object as carefully as I am every day. And the wraparound care with framing and delivery was seamless too!
