My Artistic Journey

  • Just a Dream

Born on what many would consider the "wrong side of the wall" when Germany was still divided, I was the odd one out in a tiny village.

After leaving school at 16, I embarked on a creative apprenticeship, and through a few delightful detours and a fair bit of determination, I came to Britain at 27 to study my BA in Illustration.

Why Britain? Because I had watched Sense and Sensibility on the big screen and fell in love with the green hills.

I dreamt of visiting National Trust houses and then going HOME for tea.

Isn't this a marvellous thought?

  • Forever Bloom

    Taking the Scenic Route

My journey as an artist has been a rich, two-decade creative adventure, winding through diverse disciplines.

From crafting visual stories as a window dresser and graphic designer to illustrating for magazines, creating intricate paper sculptures, and kids' illustrations, every step taught me invaluable lessons in composition, colour, and bringing ideas to life.

But it was a profound moment – a stark reminder of life's fleeting nature – that truly spurred me to pick up that paintbrush.

I was driven by a deep desire to create something lasting, something that would continue to bring light and connection into the world long after I'm gone.

  • On the Horizon

    A Moment to Pause

From my North London studio, I create paintings that invite you to pause—not to escape your life, but to truly see it.

The morning light on a simple cup. The first fruit of the season. The endless rhythm of coastal waves. These aren't just subjects for painting; they're invitations to notice what we so often
overlook in the rush of daily life.

My work is an invitation to slow down and recognize the beauty that's already in your world.

Because once you start noticing, beauty is everywhere—in the things we've seen a thousand times, in the people we've loved the longest, and most of all, in ourselves.
